About the Venue
Harrow International School, Bangkok
Harrow International School Bangkok is one of a family of six schools; Harrow School (London), John Lyon School (London), and the Harrow International Schools (Bangkok, Beijing, Shanghai, and Hong Kong). Links between the schools are strong, as demonstrated by a shared Board of Governors and staff movement within the group. We are a co-educational day and boarding school providing a British style independent boarding school experience, in English, in an Asian context at our state-of-the-art campus in north Bangkok. There is a strong pastoral focus in the school through its House system. The curriculum is taught in English. We enrol students from 18 months to 18 years.
A Harrow Bangkok education is meaningful and holistic, and for life. We offer a wide and diverse range of extracurricular activities which enrich and extend the academic studies of Harrow Bangkok students, including creative, community and sports activities. Students develop leadership skills and empathy through active involvement in charity and community service. We celebrate students who move beyond the classroom to show a commitment to an all-round education, making ethical decisions that make them better global citizens.

FAQs
-
It's for anyone that is leading professional learning in a school so that could be anyone but in particular coaches, curriculum coordinators, middle leaders or senior leaders.
-
The focus of the Learning Academy is on leading professional learning whereas the leadership academy is focused on leadership in a school.
-
You need to be an Apple Teacher or Apple Learning Coach to register.
-
Come ready for three full days of learning. You really don't need to prepare anything as far as content goes. But of course, you want to bring all of your devices, preferably your Apple devices. The facilitators will reach out with specific applications we will be using during the sessions. If you do not have access to Apple devices, please reach out to the facilitator to explore how we can best support your learning. As a leader, you will want to bring ideas on how you want to see your school community grow in the use of technology and innovation. So bring those ideas because we'll have some time dedicated to sit down and strategize how you might not just build a strategic plan off that vision, but also how you might measure success. We'll spend some time helping you look at that long-term plan and also prioritizing steps towards those goals.
-
That's a great combo. That will work just great for the Apple Learning Academy.
-
This isn't planned, but we would love to hear if there is interest in that. We do value the in-person experience, but we know there are limitations to travel.
-
Definitely. Although there's a rich experience sharing with people who are not at your school, being able to go back and forth between your colleagues and people who are at different schools will make the experience even richer. A group of two or four would be great. It would help as you come back to school and you develop those plans together where you can make a bigger impact on your campus. The Apple Learning Academy is also designed in such a way that we can bring the whole experience to your school. If you are interested in equipping 20 or more teachers from your school or district, please reach out! We would love to discuss this option with you.
-
Absolutely not. It's for schools from anywhere. We are targeting Asia, but if we have some interest from other areas, we're happy to help with those as well. It is a rich experience when you can have educators from around the region in one room. So we're happy to have anyone from Hong Kong, Korea, Japan, Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and elsewhere. If you can get here, we're happy to have you. So it's not a geographically based event. You’lll get a lot out of it regardless of where you're coming from. So this is a unique opportunity if you're even somewhat close to Southeast Asia.
-
We will be delivering the content in English, but if you feel more comfortable speaking another language, you can do all of your planning in whatever language works best for you. There are some good translation apps and that should help make the workshops go fairly smoothly. If you are interested in having the Apple Learning Academy delivered in your local language and have 20 or more teachers interested, please reach out! We would love to discuss further.
-
Besides your badge, there will be a strategic plan that you'll be able to take back. There will be other resources that we will share during the Academy including work templates for the planning.
